Andy Murray joined Asda in April 2016 and is responsible for leading Asda's Customer Insights, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing functions. Prior to joining Asda, Murray was SVP of Creative and Customer Experience for Walmart Stores U.S.  During this assignment, Murray launched several notable advertising campaigns including the American Jobs advertising which has been showcased in the Smithsonian for outstanding work in celebrating the American worker.  Murray was also responsible for implementing a Customer Experience function within Marketing that brought together design, visual merchandising, strategy, and creative.  The team led the development of Walmart's new Supercenter instore design, which is being rolled out as the new store prototype. 

Murray is also the Founder and Retired Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi X; a global retail agency he started in 1997 as one of the early pioneers in the new advertising discipline of Shopper Marketing.  Saatchi X maintains an esteemed roster of Fortune 100 companies such as Procter & Gamble, Wendy's, LG and Pepsico.  Murray led the growth of the agency into an international leader with offices in 22 locations across North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.  

Before starting Saatchi & Saatchi X, Murray was VP of Marketing and Creative for Hallmark subsidiary Dayspring Cards. Prior to that, Murray held several positions at Procter & Gamble, including membership in the industry leading P&G Walmart customer team in Bentonville Arkansas. 

Murray is a frequent speaker and writer in the areas of the future of retail marketing, entrepreneurship, and how to unlock the creative potential of an organisation. 

Murray currently resides in the U.K. with his wife of 30 plus years. He has two grown up sons, both in the advertising business in New York City and Chicago. 

Murray serves on the Executive Council of the non-profit Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics, and is a lifetime Honorary Member of the University of Arkansas Center for Retailing Excellence.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for Compassion House, a non-profit organisation that provides care and housing for young expecting mothers in crisis.
